off-campus housing provides students with a variety of options for living near the campus. Students are able to view apartments and decide which one they would like to live in based on their needs. The International Student Affairs office will assist you with this process. Most students are placed in an apartment within two days of their arrival. rental contracts Be certain that you understand all the terms of the lease. Once the lease is signed, you are legally responsible. A lease is strictly between the student and the landlord or rental agency. The University will not be involved in the signing of a contract or a lease. All lease agreements are a minimum of one year. furniture Some apartments are furnished, but most of them will have to be furnished by the student. Before purchasing furniture, consider how long you will need it and what you will do with it when you leave. Used furniture outlets are also located near the school. utilities Most landlords ask that you pay for your own utilities which usually include heat, electricity, telephone and cable. Sometimes arrangements can be made for a landlord to include one of these utilities in the rental price. prices range from $500 per month to $1300 per month depending
on location, services, and how many students will share the apartment. Private homes are also available at $1000 and up, per month, no utilities.
