Johnson & Wales University consolidated its Charleston, South Carolina and Norfolk, Virginia campuses in May 2006, as a result of the opening of its Charlotte, North Carolina campus in September 2004.

Although the Charleston and Norfolk campuses are no longer open, the University continues to maintain ties with industry and educational leaders in these cities through its cooperative education and recruitment efforts.
